Thank you to all who came to the Room Parent Information Meeting or joined us via Zoom. We hope we were able to answer any questions you had and provide some insight on how the "revamped" Room Parent Program is going to work. One of the key takeaways is this is a work in progress, and we need everybody's help to make this successful long term.
For those who couldn't attend, here are few notes:
Teachers will be reaching out to their parents with a request for room parent volunteers and their individual expectations.
Teachers will be selecting their own room parents based on their own need.
Some teachers may have one, some may have multiple.
Room parent activities can range from planning/executing holiday/end of year parties to decorating hallways to cutting/stapling, etc. Activities will vary based on grade level and teacher needs.
Please understand that many activities will not involve being in your child's classroom as this could potentially cause a distraction to students.
The Room Parent Rep for PTO Hajek Helpers will help coordinate and provide information for the Holiday and End of the Year Parties.
We plan to have a Grade Level Room Parent Representative for each grade who will help coordinate communications between PTO and room parents as well as all-grade activities as necessary.
